Day 1 Travel to Bangor, ME

We were up early and on the road at 5:20 AM with a big bright full moon in the clear sky.  Traffic was light and moving right along until we got close to Boston.  We traveled through MA, NH, and ME and stopped at the Maine Visitor Center for a picnic lunch.  After a 45 minute break we headed north and decided to take a side trip off 95 to Ogunquit to take a walk along the ocean on the Marginal Way.  Oh my goodness!  Was that ever a busy place!  No parking available anywhere (even the $12 lot was full) so we headed back to 95N and journeyed on to Bangor where we are spending the night.

Welcome to Maine

Introduction

Beginning on August 31st, 2012 Judy and I will embark on a 25 day road trip from Central New York State to the Canadian provinces of Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island.  Once in Canada we will be staying exclusively at Bed and Breakfast Inns.  Ample time has been allocated at each stop to allow us to to enjoy the abundant natural beauty and local color that each area has to offer.  Many thanks to Judy for spending countless hours researching our destinations and  putting together this exciting journey.
