Like they say, timing is everything. Unfortunately for us the timing was right for
the perfect storm. Tropical storm Leslie (offshore) stalled a strong cold front coming from the west to produce almost 5
inches of rain across the entire length of Nova Scotia. This made for difficult travel on our 315
mile journey today. The rainfall ranged
from heavy steady rain to downpours.
There was some flash flooding in the communities along the way. Truro was especially hard hit. The highways had standing water in many
places and you had to be aware of hydroplaning.
Fortunately we had no problems and arrived safely at our destination. We went to dinner at an eating establishment
just down the road from our B & B.
The highlight of our day was the entertainment provided by some local
musicians. The guitar and fiddle folk
music was influenced by the local Acadian culture.
