Day 9 Halifax and Peggy's Cove

Another beautiful day for our visit to Halifax.  We took the Harbour Hopper tour.  The Harbour Hopper is a converted military amphibious vehicle.  Therefore we saw the city via land and water.  We also spent a lot of time walking along the HarbourWalk which is a board walk that stretches the entire length of Halifax harbor.  There are many restaurants, shops, street performers, etc. so the stroll was both interesting and enjoyable.  We also visited the Seaport Farmers Market which is filled with vendors of all kinds.

From Halifax we headed back west along the southern shore and stopped at the famous Peggy’s Cove, a tiny inlet and fishing village with a beautiful and unique-looking rocky shore.    Peggy’s Cove has the most photographed lighthouse in all of Canada.

We traveled on along the shore to Chester Basin, another pretty little harbor, where we stopped for dinner at the Seaside Shanty Restaurant.

We arrived back at our B&B in time to hear our Innkeeper’s nightly trombone “Serenade to the Fish” from the front porch.  He plays several oldies and ends with taps!
